Ogun State announces plans for the 2026 Drums Festival in Abeokuta, highlighting cultural promotion and tourism growth under the current administration

Ogun State government has concluded arrangements to stage the annual Drums Festival later this year, aiming to promote the culture and traditions of the state.

Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Chief Olusesan Fagbayi, disclosed this in an interview with OGBC in Abeokuta.

He commended the state government for the transformation of Olumo Rock, noting the massive patronage recorded during the yuletide holiday.

Highlighting the benefits of the Drums Festival, Chief Fagbayi said all arrangements have been finalised, with the event now awaiting the Governor’s approval to commence in Abeokuta.

He also praised the state cultural troupe for its exemplary performances throughout 2025, adding that the current administration is committed to diversifying revenue generation while projecting Ogun’s rich culture and traditions.
