New Regberegbe Group, Egbe Bobasete, Debuts in Ijebuland Ahead of Ojude Oba Festival

On Saturday, June 15, 2024, a new Regberegbe (Age Grade Group) was birthed in Ijebuland ahead of the highly anticipated and glamorous annual Ojude Oba festival.

Egbe Bobasete received official recognition and royal blessings from the Awujale of Ijebuland, Ọba Sikiru Kayọde Adetọna, Ogbagba II, during a ceremony held at his palace.

This group comprises individuals born between 1986 and 1988.

The male faction of the group is named Egbe Bobasete Omooba Okunrin Akile Ijebu, while the female counterpart is known as Egbe Bobasete Omooba Obinrin Akile Ijebu.

The male leadership includes notable figures such as Ogbeni Ramoni Bakare and Aare Egbe, Ogbeni Durojaiye Olayinka.

  • Apagun Egbe: Ogbeni Adekunle Adeniyi
  • Akinrogun Egbe: Ogbeni Philips Awojirin
  • Mayegun Egbe: Ogbeni Eniola Afolajimi Awoyemi
  • Agbaakin Egbe: Ogbeni Abiola Oropo
  • Obalofin Egbe: Ogbeni Fagbamila Adegboyega
  • Bashorun Egbe: Ogbeni Adewale Odusegun

The grand patron of the group is Gunwa Olanrewaju Mabawonku FCAI ANIVS ESV, the CEO of Lagos Skyline and Waterfront Development Company and a director of Probity and Company Nigeria Limited.

He also holds the title of Agbaakin of the glamorous Egbe Bobagunwa Okunrin Akile Ijebu.

The grand matron is Olori Adenike Adetutu Aderemi, CEO of O-Semilore Textile and Palm Oil, who holds the title of Yeye Oge Egbe Arobayo Obinrin Akile Ijebu.

The adviser for Egbe Bobasete Omooba Okunrin is Fesójoye Egbe Obaneye Okunrin Akile Ijebu, Alhaji Yusuf Oduwole, CEO of Allison Building Service.

Hon. Samod Opemipo Balogun, a public servant and majority leader of the Ijebu Ode legislative arm, serves as the Giwa Egbe.

The group’s leadership also includes:

  • Otun Giwa: Alhaji Nurudeen Bakare
  • Eta Giwa: Omooba Moshood Abiola Koletowo
  • Balogun Egbe: Hon. Lukman Ejalonibu, a reputable politician and farmer
