Midas Radio wins Ekiti tourism award for promoting cultural heritage

Midas Radio 90.5 FM received the Ekiti tourism award for promoting the state’s cultural and tourism potential, including historic sites and festivals.

 

Midas Radio 90.5 FM, Ekiti State’s first 24-hour broadcasting station, has won the prestigious Ekiti tourism award for its exceptional support in promoting the state’s tourism sector.

The award, conferred by the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development during World Tourism Day 2024, recognised the station’s outstanding contribution to the development of tourism.

Presenting the award at the Oroke Ewo tourism site in Ilupeju-Ekiti, Director General Wale Ojo-Lanre praised Midas Radio for its role in showcasing Ekiti’s rich cultural and historical heritage.

The station has been instrumental in amplifying the state’s tourism potential by highlighting significant attractions like the Ikogosi Warm Springs and events such as the Udiroko Festival. This has helped establish Ekiti as a desirable destination for both local and international visitors.

Upon receiving the award, Managing Director of Midas Radio, Mr Kayode Olusemire, expressed his gratitude and noted that the recognition would inspire further efforts to support tourism growth in Ekiti.

He affirmed the station’s commitment to promoting Ekiti as a vibrant hub for tourists and investors alike, stating that Midas Radio would continue to highlight the state’s opportunities and attractions through its platform.

The Ekiti tourism award acknowledges the hard work, innovation, and resilience that Midas Radio embodies, and marks an important milestone in the station’s mission to project Ekiti as a key destination in Nigeria.
