Stagecoach festival faces chaos after high winds trigger evacuation, delays and cancellations, sparking frustration among fans

The 2026 Stagecoach country music festival in California, United States, was disrupted on Saturday, 27 April 2026, after high winds forced an evacuation, leaving fans frustrated despite the event later resuming.

The strong winds intensified during Little Big Town’s performance, prompting organisers to halt the show as vendors closed early and emergency protocols were activated.

Festival screens instructed attendees to leave the venue immediately, with a message stating that the festival had been postponed until further notice.

Fans were guided toward exits and shuttle points as safety measures were enforced across the grounds.

However, about 90 minutes after the evacuation, organisers issued a follow-up update stating that the festival would continue, with adjustments made to the schedule.

Headliner Lainey Wilson’s performance was pushed back by an hour to 10:30 pm, while sets by Gavin Adcock and Pitbull were also delayed.

Other performances, including those by Journey and Riley Green, were reportedly cancelled, according to updates shared via the Stagecoach app.

The sudden changes sparked confusion and disappointment among attendees, many of whom had already left the venue following the evacuation order.

Several fans took to social media to express frustration over the shifting announcements and disrupted plans.

One attendee said they had already returned to their hotel after being instructed to evacuate, describing the situation as “unreal,” while another said they chose not to return after settling in for the night.

Others criticised organisers for what they described as poor communication and uncertainty during the emergency response.
