In a statement released on Sunday, Senator Husain described the monarch’s passing as “a monumental loss to the state, the progressive family, and humanity at large.”

He noted that Oba Famoodun’s transition came as a “rude shock,” highlighting a life marked by courage, wisdom, and steadfast dedication to his people and to the consolidation of progressive politics in Osun State.

The former lawmaker, representing Osun West Senatorial District, paid tribute to Oba Famoodun’s role not only as a custodian of cultural heritage but also as a stabilising figure within the APC.

“The Owa of Igbajo was a rare blend of royal dignity, political sagacity, and human compassion. His sudden death is a colossal loss, not only to Igbajo but to the entire progressive family across Osun State,” he said.

Senator Husain further lauded Oba Famoodun’s tenure as APC State Chairman, noting his firm and visionary leadership that strengthened party unity and built resilient structures across local governments.

“His contributions to community and human development were unparalleled. He mentored political actors, touched countless lives, and remained a pillar for democratic advancement.

These enduring legacies will provide solace during this difficult time,” he added.
