The decision was made during a closed meeting of the Olubadan-in-Council at the Oke-Aremo palace.

This nomination follows the recent passing of the late Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, who died on July 7 after a year on the throne.

The council’s 11 high chiefs, including Ladoja, endorsed the nomination in line with Ibadan’s rotational system between the civil and military lines.

Chief Tajudeen Ajibola, Balogun Olubadan of the military line, confirmed the council will forward the decision to Governor Seyi Makinde, who will set the date for the coronation and presentation of the staff of office.
