The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has announced that his administration is leveraging tourism as a catalyst for economic growth.

Represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, the governor made this statement during the 2024 Igogo festival in Owo, which celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the Owo people.

The festival reached its peak on Tuesday, with community members donning traditional white attire and participating in a grand procession led by the king around the town.

Aiyedatiwa acknowledged the vital role that festivals play in driving economic activity and fostering unity within the community.

He stated, “Through tourism and festivals like Igogo, people from all walks of life will visit Ondo State to experience its economic viability.”

The governor also announced plans for the world’s largest entrepreneurship festival, set to take place in November, expecting over 200 investors to showcase the state’s potential.

Aiyedatiwa congratulated the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin, and the Owo community for their successful celebration, urging for continued unity among the people.
