MTN Nigeria launched the “See Naija” platform, a tourism initiative aimed at showcasing Nigeria’s culture and landscapes, promoting local talent, and reshaping global perceptions.

 

MTN Nigeria has unveiled a groundbreaking tourism initiative called the “See Naija” platform, designed to market Nigeria’s cultural and natural assets to the world.

According to Ugonwa Nwoye, Chief Customer Relations Officer and Acting Chief Marketing Officer, MTN Nigeria, the platform is a digital space aimed at showcasing Nigeria’s rich culture, iconic landscapes, and creative talents.

The *MTN Nigeria tourism initiative* will offer a curated online experience that explores Nigeria’s diverse culture, from the Great Oyo Empire to natural wonders like Gurara Waterfalls and Gashaka Gumti Park.

Through collaborations with content creators, the platform will deliver captivating visuals and stories that challenge the negative stereotypes often associated with Nigeria.

As part of this initiative, MTN Nigeria has launched the “See Naija” competition, inviting individuals, including content creators and photographers, to share their unique perspectives on Nigeria.

Participants are encouraged to capture photos or videos that reflect Nigeria’s landscapes, culture, or traditions, using the hashtag #SeeNaijawithMTN on social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.

The competition runs for three months, starting from World Tourism Day on 17th September 2024.

Nwoye emphasised MTN’s commitment to promoting local talent and driving socio-economic growth through this initiative.

She stressed that Nigeria’s cultural diversity, which includes over 500 languages and more than 300 ethnic groups, is a vital part of the nation’s identity.

By encouraging Nigerians to tell their own stories, MTN aims to reshape global perceptions and highlight the country’s beauty.

MTN Nigeria’s tourism initiative represents a key step in changing the narrative about Nigeria and showcasing its stunning landscapes, colourful festivals, and vibrant markets.
