Ambassador Nneka Isaac-Moses empowers women and youths across Africa through Goge Africa, promoting tourism, culture, and creative storytelling

For over two decades, Ambassador Nneka Isaac-Moses, Co-founder and Managing Director of Goge Africa Worldwide, has been on a mission to reshape global perceptions of Africa — portraying it not as a continent of struggle, but one of splendour, strength, and soul.

Through her visionary leadership, she has empowered more than 5,000 women and youths across Nigeria and West Africa, harnessing tourism, culture, and creative media as tools for social and economic transformation.

At the heart of her work is the Goge Africa Creative Academy, which offers practical training in digital storytelling, documentary production, and tourism promotion.

Participants learn to tell their own African narratives with pride and professionalism. Many graduates now thrive in broadcasting, hospitality, and content creation, carrying forward the Goge mantra: “See Africa, Love Africa.”

“We started with passion, prayer, and persistence. That’s how we turned a dream into a continental legacy,” Nneka said. “Culture isn’t just entertainment; it’s empowerment and identity.”

Through partnerships with institutions such as the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA) and the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Goge Africa has mentored thousands of women entrepreneurs and creative youths in Nigeria, Ghana, The Gambia, Benin Republic, and Côte d’Ivoire — helping them turn creativity into sustainable livelihoods.

One of her landmark initiatives, the Destination West Africa Project (DWAP), promotes intra-African travel, trade, and collaboration, showcasing hidden cultural gems while training young tour guides, influencers, and content creators to thrive in the modern tourism economy.

As Goge Africa marks 26 years of cultural excellence, Ambassador Nneka is launching new projects to expand the brand’s legacy — including the Goge Africa Podcast, the Caribbean Cultural Cruise, and Destination West Africa Phase II, which will explore deeper cultural connections across Africa and the diaspora.

In November, the Goge team will tour Casablanca, Marrakech, and Tangier, followed by an End-of-Year Cultural Experience celebrating Nigeria’s most colourful festivals — from the Calabar Carnival to the Odogwu Cultural Experience in Anambra and the Enugu Heritage Trails.

Before co-founding Goge Africa in 1999, Nneka had already made her mark as a model, actress, and TV presenter, featuring in popular dramas and commercials throughout the 1990s.

Since its debut on AIT, NTA, and DBN, and later on MNET Africa Magic, Goge Africa has become a continental staple, reaching over 40 million viewers across 30 countries.

Her efforts have earned global recognition, including awards from the UN World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), African Union (AU), CBAAC, and NCAC, alongside the African Women Leadership Award, Tourism Excellence Award, and induction into the Nigerian Broadcasters’ Hall of Fame.

Despite facing challenges such as limited funding and institutional neglect, Ambassador Nneka remains undeterred.

“When people lose touch with their roots, they lose a part of themselves,” she said. “Through Goge Africa, we’re reconnecting Africans to their essence — and reminding the world that Africa has always been beautiful.”
