Culturati Festival 2024 Lagos

Culturati Festival 2024 to empower SMEs, boost Lagos’ GDP, and celebrate African heritage with art, fashion, and culture from Dec 5–7.

The Culturati Festival, Africa’s premier cultural fusion event, is set to transform Lagos into a global cultural and economic hub with its 2024 edition.

Running from December 5th to 7th at Freedom Park, Lagos, the event promises to promote African heritage while empowering Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the tourism and cultural sectors.

With the theme “Celebrate Diversity and Unity,” this year’s festival features a trade fair showcasing 100 SMEs, designed to boost visibility, provide networking opportunities, and open new markets for businesses.

The initiative, organised in collaboration with Naijabrandchick and supported by the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, underscores the festival’s commitment to leveraging culture for economic growth.

Speaking at a press conference, Adetola Bakinson, CEO of Culturati Africa, highlighted the festival’s importance.

“The Culturati Festival is not just an event; it’s a movement dedicated to promoting cultural diversity, empowerment, and economic growth across Africa,” she said.

The event will feature art exhibitions, storytelling, fashion shows, music, and more, attracting high-profile dignitaries and international attendees.

Freedom Park, the historic venue, will undergo refurbishments to enhance its cultural significance, drawing more tourists and solidifying its role as a landmark in Lagos’ cultural landscape.

Beyond the festival, Culturati Africa actively empowers young people through its academy, which has trained over 10,000 youths in digital marketing, video production, and content creation.

Bakinson reaffirmed this dedication, stating, “We will continue to equip more young people with the skills they need to thrive in creative industries.”

The Culturati Community Library, another initiative of the festival, advocates for literacy and cultural education, further extending the event’s impact on society.

This 18th edition of the Culturati Festival not only celebrates African traditions but also positions Lagos as a beacon of cultural excellence and economic opportunity, aligning cultural diversity with the state’s development agenda.
