The newly launched restaurant, situated at 18B Lalubu Street in the heart of Oke-Ilewo, brings a fresh wave of innovation and flavour to the commercial landscape of the state capital.

Speaking at the commissioning, Ogun State Deputy Governor, Mrs Noimot Salako-Oyedele, restated the government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for businesses that promote industrial growth and enhance the state’s appeal to tourists.

She praised Burger King for introducing not just another eatery, but a global brand committed to excellence and sustainability.

Burger King’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer in Nigeria, Mr Rushde Ibrahim, told the audience that the Abeokuta location was chosen in response to high customer demand.

“One of the reasons we came to Abeokuta is because there was a very high demand,” he said, noting that many customers had urged the brand to establish a presence in the city after visiting other locations across Nigeria.

According to Ibrahim, Burger King Abeokuta sets a new standard for restaurant design in Nigeria. “This is our first Green restaurant,” he announced, highlighting the outlet’s eco-conscious features, including a gas-powered generator, gas air conditioning, and container-based construction.

The hybrid store model, he added, reflects Burger King’s drive to minimise waste while maintaining operational excellence.

In addition to global favourites, the restaurant offers a locally inspired menu that includes suya, sweet potatoes, and fried plantain cubes. Ibrahim said the brand is committed to blending international standards with Nigerian tastes.

“Our food is world class. We are the leading burger chain in the world. But we also understand and respect local flavour,” he added.

Traditional leaders, government officials, and business stakeholders attended the event, underscoring its relevance to the economic aspirations of the state. With this launch, Burger King strengthens its footprint in Nigeria, marking its 23rd outlet across seven states.
