The 20th edition of the Akwaaba African Travel Market 2024 is set to take place in Lagos, Nigeria, with the Honourable Minister of Tourism, Lola Ade-John, as the Special Guest of Honour at the 7th African Youth Tourism Bantaba. The event will focus on youth empowerment and sustainable tourism development.

 

The highly anticipated 20th edition of the Akwaaba African Travel Market 2024, Africa’s premier tourism and hospitality event, will take place in Lagos, Nigeria.

A key feature of this year’s event is the 7th African Youth Tourism Bantaba, where the Honourable Minister of Tourism, Lola Ade-John, will serve as the Special Guest of Honour.

Her participation reflects the Nigerian government’s commitment to empowering youth and fostering sustainable tourism development.

This aligns with the theme of the event, “Activating The Youth Tourism Potentials of Africa, A Call To Duty,” which emphasises the role of youth in driving Africa’s growing tourism industry.

According to the event organisers, led by Ikechi Uko, the African Youth Tourism Bantaba has become one of the most significant segments of the Akwaaba Travel Market.

It offers a platform for young tourism enthusiasts, students, and emerging professionals to engage with industry leaders, exchange ideas, and gain valuable insights into the tourism and hospitality sectors.
