Scheduled to run until November 8, the festival will screen a diverse lineup of feature films, documentaries, and shorts from across Africa and the diaspora.

The new market, according to AFRIFF Founder Chioma Ude, will serve as a business hub for studios, streaming platforms, and investors, fostering collaborations and generating new partnerships within the continent’s creative industry.

Lagos, known as Africa’s entertainment capital, remains the natural host, with hotels across Victoria Island and Lekki reporting over 90% occupancy during the festival week.

The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism is coordinating with security and traffic agencies to ensure a smooth experience for visitors.

Vice Chairman of Hotel Owners Forum Lagos, Adewale Ayo-Adesanya, noted that AFRIFF boosts room sales and allied services such as dining, transport, and nightlife, rivaling major December events in international visitor impact.
