The annual celebration, themed “Festival of Joyful Grace,” honours Oronna, the legendary warrior who protected Ilaro and brought lasting peace to the land.

The festival will open with chieftaincy title conferments at the palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, Asade Agunloye IV, followed by a roadshow and unveiling of the festival mascot on November 8 to officially commence activities.

Across nine days, participants will enjoy a rich programme including visits to deities, traditional homage, the Onigbaaje Procession Carnival, the Sisi Ilaro Beauty Pageant, and the “Poosu Night” Ilaro cuisine feast.

Other highlights include Bolojo Night at the Children’s Park, Itolu and Ita-osi Day celebrations, medical outreach, a 5km race, football finals, and traditional performances such as Egungun, Igunnuko, and Efe/Gelede dances.

The Princesses’ and Princes’ Night will be held on November 14 at Yewa Frontier Hotel, while the grand finale on November 15 at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion Ground will feature Balogun horse processions, cultural displays, music, dance, and special recognitions.

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Deputy Governor Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, and other dignitaries are expected to attend.

Pharmacist Lekan Asuni, Chairman of the Oronna Festival Committee, described the festival as a celebration of courage, sacrifice, and communal pride, inviting all Ilaro sons and daughters, tourists, and cultural enthusiasts to participate.
