Organised by the Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Entertainment, the second edition aims to strengthen the impact of last year’s inaugural event.

The summit has become a cornerstone of the state’s push to elevate the entertainment industry and create sustainable opportunities for youth.

In line with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, this year’s event will feature a robust skills acquisition segment focused on capacity building in the creative sector.

Prayer Pemu, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Entertainment, confirmed that this year’s edition will go beyond performances and panel sessions.

“The inclusion of a dedicated training segment reflects our commitment to ensuring that the entertainment sector does more than entertain—it empowers,” Pemu said during a press briefing.

Though a specific date in July is yet to be disclosed, the announcement has already generated buzz across the entertainment community.

A-list personalities expected to attend include comedian Gordons, singer Harrysong, actor Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Mavin Records President Tega Oghenejobo, AY Comedian, and singer Victor AD.

Each of these entertainers shares professional or personal ties to Delta State, giving the event a deeply rooted sense of homecoming and identity.

Governor Oborevwori is expected to serve as the special guest of honour. His presence will underscore the state’s official endorsement of the summit’s objectives and broader significance in driving social and economic change.

Other senior government officials and industry leaders will also be in attendance to engage with young creatives and stakeholders.

“The creative economy has proven its power to generate income, create jobs, and build cultural influence,” Pemu stated. “With the right training and exposure, Delta State’s youth can lead Africa’s entertainment future.”

**Delta entertainment summit 2025** will feature live performances, talent showcases, and knowledge exchange across key sectors such as music, film, fashion, comedy, and digital media.

The goal is not only to entertain audiences but to spark innovation, inspire collaboration, and equip emerging talents with tools to thrive.

In its debut year, the summit recorded strong attendance and was praised for its grassroots outreach. The 2025 edition is expected to expand on that foundation, attracting participants from beyond Delta and throughout Nigeria’s booming creative industry.

“This is not just another entertainment event,” said a local artist who participated in the 2024 edition. “It’s a place where dreams meet direction, where we connect with mentors, and where opportunities are born.”

Local talents and small-scale creative entrepreneurs are especially encouraged to take part. The organisers plan to offer hands-on sessions and networking forums to help attendees translate artistic skill into sustainable business ventures.

As the countdown begins, expectations are rising for another memorable showcase. While entertainment remains the core attraction, organisers are adamant that the summit must serve a higher purpose.

“We are not hosting celebrities for show,” Pemu affirmed. “We are building a generation of empowered creators who can compete globally.”
