Organised by Evergreen Musical Company Limited, the annual event honoured the country’s cultural icons and coincided with Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary — blending national pride with artistic recognition.
Under the glowing Lagos skyline, Ariya Eko 2025 paid tribute to 65 distinguished personalities whose creativity has shaped the nation’s music and arts.
Among the honourees were Stella Monye, Dele Abiodun, Jossy Friday, Queen Salawa Abeni, Tee Mac, Evangelist Funmi Aragbaye, Evangelist J.A., and Baba Ajibiewe — all celebrated for their lasting contributions to Nigeria’s cultural legacy.
The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, attended as Special Guest of Honour and personally presented awards to three recipients.
In his address, he commended Evergreen Music for its commitment to preserving Nigeria’s artistic heritage and inspiring the next generation.
Mz. Bimbo Esho, Managing Director of Evergreen Musical Company and the visionary behind Ariya Eko, highlighted the emotional power of celebrating living legends.
“Recognising the stars of yesteryears while they are still with us is a great motivation not only for them but for upcoming artistes,” she said.
Esho described Ariya Eko 2025 as “a bridge between the young and the old, the local and the global, memory and innovation,” noting that it fosters cultural dialogue and supports international artistic exchange.
She emphasised that this year’s edition symbolised the unyielding strength and resilience of Nigeria’s creative spirit.
In her closing remarks, Esho expressed gratitude to the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism for their unwavering support and encouraged continued public enthusiasm.
She assured fans that Ariya Eko would remain an annual celebration, honouring new sets of artistic trailblazers who continue to define Nigeria’s sound and soul.
