The South-South/South-East summit will promote cultural heritage and economic growth, aligning with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 8 in Delta State.

 

The Anioma people of Delta State are set to host a South-South/South-East cultural and economic summit focused on achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 8.

The Anioma people of Delta State have announced plans for the South-South/South-East Cultural and Economic Summit, scheduled for November 29-30, 2024, in Asaba.

The event aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 8, which advocates for decent work and economic growth.

Patrick Nwanze, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, highlighted that the summit is not just a social event but a platform to celebrate the uniqueness, cultural heritage, and economic potential of the South-South and South-East regions of Nigeria.

The summit will foster connections through shared cultural values and explore untapped opportunities in tourism and business.

The CEO of Akurulo Media International, Chief Chuks Ibegbu, added that the event is a call for unity, collective growth, and a prosperous future.

It aims to attract global attention to the regions’ rich traditions, cultural diversity, and economic opportunities.

In addition, the organisers announced plans to hold bi-annual cultural heritage festivals that would celebrate traditions while boosting tourism and economic prospects for the regions.
