The initiative, anchored under the “Origin of Wonder” brand, highlights Kenya’s iconic wildlife safaris, pristine beaches, cultural heritage sites, adventure tourism, wellness experiences, and luxury travel.

Principal Secretary for Tourism John Ololtuaa said the campaign connects visitors with Kenya’s heritage as the cradle of humankind and home to world-renowned tourism experiences.

Digital innovations, including the Magical Kenya Destination Passport, aim to enhance visitor engagement and encourage exploration across the country.

Kenya hopes to attract five million international arrivals by 2027, supported by improved air connectivity, streamlined electronic travel authorisations, and investment in tourism infrastructure.

Kenya Tourism Board CEO June Chepkemei highlighted that the campaign targets Millennials and Gen Z travellers seeking authentic, shareable, and immersive experiences.

Meanwhile, Ambassador to Germany Stella Mokaya Orina emphasised tourism diplomacy as a key driver for economic outcomes from the campaign.

The launch coincides with strong growth in Kenya’s tourism sector, with international arrivals rising 14.7% to 2.39 million in 2024, and inbound earnings up 19.8% to KSh 452.2 billion.

The United States remains the top source market, while Europe accounts for 28.1% of international visitors.
