KAP Film Village wins Tourism Award at the 2025 Ibadan Summit as Kunle Afolayan is honoured for transforming the resort into a creative tourism landmark

KAP Film Village Tourism Award stole the spotlight at the 2025 International Tourism Investment Summit in Ibadan, where Kunle Afolayan, filmmaker and CEO of the resort, was named Tourism Entrepreneur of the Year.

The summit, held from July 22 to 24 in Oyo State, brought together investors, government leaders, and creatives under the theme of destination development, eco-tourism, and heritage preservation.

Among its highlights was the recognition of KAP Film Village & Resort in Igbojaye as a symbol of cultural innovation and sustainable tourism.

Afolayan’s vision has turned the resort into more than a retreat it’s a cultural landmark that combines film, hospitality, nature, and African heritage.

The resort has drawn both local and global interest and created job opportunities while celebrating Nigerian identity.

“You don’t have to travel abroad to experience peace, beauty, or culture,” Afolayan said. “We’re building something rooted in creativity, culture, and care.”
