The team, led by Mr. Nasir Muhammad Bungura, conducted a detailed inspection of the airport in collaboration with Engr. Haruna Dikko Gusau, Permanent Secretary of the Zamfara State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure.

The assessment examined critical infrastructure, including the runway, terminal facilities, navigational aids, and safety systems, to determine the airport’s suitability for hands-on aviation training.

Bungura described the existing infrastructure as “encouraging,” highlighting its potential to support operational activities and student training in areas such as air traffic services, airport safety management, and aircraft ground operations.

He noted that collaborations of this kind would enhance experiential learning, improve industry standards, and strengthen human capital development in the aviation sector.

The delegation also commended the Zamfara State Government for investing in what it termed a modern and smart airport designed to meet contemporary aviation needs.

Beyond training benefits, the airport is expected to stimulate economic development, attract investments, create jobs, and enhance regional security through faster movement of personnel and goods.

Engr. Gusau, speaking on behalf of Governor Dauda Lawal, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to maximising the airport’s impact beyond transportation, emphasising its strategic value for the state’s broader development agenda.
