The event, held in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, blended deep tradition with modern recognition, bringing smiles to residents and transforming lives through impactful rewards.

At the heart of this year’s celebration was a generous presentation of prizes. Two brand new cars, four tricycles, several power generators, sewing machines and grinding machines were given to individuals selected for their dedication, service, and enterprise within the Ijebu community.

Opeoluwa Osisanwo, aged 52, emerged as one of the car winners. A long-serving Secretary of the Ojude Oba Festival Planning Committee and a respected member of Egbe Tobalase Okunrin, he was nominated for his tireless commitment to the community.

His recognition as the most outstanding young leader in Ijebuland was a moment of profound humility. “I never knew people were watching me. I was just serving my land of birth to the best of my ability,” he said in gratitude.

He extended thanks to the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, and fellow committee members for trusting him with responsibility despite his age. His win exemplified how quiet dedication often finds unexpected reward.

Another car was handed to Idowu Olabisi, a trader from Ijebu Igbo, who received the keys with tearful emotion. “Globacom indeed gave me a spectacular gift during the Eid period. I had no inkling I would get such a car at this time,” she shared.

Four tricycle recipients—Hassan Toheeb from Ijebu Itele, Adenike Olanrewaju of Molipa, Gazal Temitope of Olisa, and carpenter Lawal Tosin—represented everyday Nigerians whose entrepreneurial lives now enjoy renewed momentum.

Dignitaries present at the festival included Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy Hannatu Musa Musawa, and the Ogbeni Oja of Ijebuland, Sunny Kuku.

Governor Abiodun commended the Awujale’s reign for its vision and commitment to progress, while Minister Musawa described the festival as a “shining testament of the richness of our cultural diversity and the resilience of our traditional institutions in preserving history for future generations.”

Globacom’s enduring sponsorship continues to affirm its status as a brand deeply rooted in Nigeria’s cultural heritage and committed to empowering communities.
