The festival, a customary obligation of His Royal Majesty, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha, will hold in October with the Iru Ofala on the 17th and the Azu Ofala on the 18th.

At a press conference in Ime Obi, the Obi’s Palace, the Ofala Festival Organising Committee praised Globacom for sustaining its support since 2011.

The company said its involvement reflects a deep belief in Nigeria’s cultural wealth and its potential to drive both identity and economic growth.

“In 2025, Nigeria’s tourism sector is projected to contribute N11.2 trillion to GDP, underscoring how culture and tourism are vital to our economy, our identity, and our future.

Globacom is committed to pushing that future forward,” the company said.

As part of this year’s package, Glo announced customer empowerment promotions, including prizes such as a brand new car, tricycles, sewing machines, and grinding machines.

The company also reaffirmed its continued rollout of 4G-LTE across Nigeria, particularly in the South East, to ensure subscribers enjoy improved voice and data services.

Globacom further highlighted its new offerings the Talkmasta plan, which provides extra talk time and data at no additional cost, and a Welcome Bonus for new subscribers joining the Glo community.

The Ofala Strategic Marketing and Communications Committee chairman, Nnaemeka Maduegbuna, said this year’s festival would begin with the annual lecture on 7 October and continue with the Oreze Art Exhibition, showcasing paintings and sculptures.

He assured visitors of security, comfort, and a spectacular cultural experience.
