Mr Sunday Michael, Special Adviser to the Governor on Obudu Ranch Resort, announced the development on Thursday in Calabar. He confirmed that a redesigned model is complete and ready for implementation.

“The essence of the project is to revitalise and reposition the resort. It is to make it a premier destination for eco-tourism,” he told reporters.

According to Michael, the Obudu Ranch reconstruction project will feature world-class facilities and showcase the natural landscape and cultural richness of Cross River.

He added that the initiative would also create employment, drive local economic growth, and increase the state’s internally generated revenue.

The resort, once a top eco-tourism hub in Nigeria, has seen years of neglect. The current effort reflects Governor Bassey Otu’s push to revitalise tourism in the state.

Michael noted that the project was more than just infrastructure. “It’s a bold step toward unlocking the full tourism potential of the state,” he said.
