Col. Sani Bello (Rtd) has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce for his outstanding impact on business, leadership, and philanthropy in Nigeria
The Chairman of Mainstream Energy Solutions, Col. Sani Bello (Rtd), has been honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award in Business, Leadership & Philanthropy by the Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce (NACC).
The prestigious recognition was presented during the Chamber’s 65th anniversary dinner held at the Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island.
The grand event, themed “The Power of Co-operation: 65 Years of Optimizing Nigerian-American Economic Relations”, highlighted trailblazers who have made exceptional contributions to business, public service, and humanitarian causes.
In his citation, the Chamber lauded Col. Bello as “an elder statesman whose leadership, business acumen, and philanthropic legacy have impacted countless lives across Nigeria.”
The celebration also saw the unveiling of the NACC’s 3-Dimensional multi-storey headquarters building, where a floor has been named The Sani Bello International Entrepreneurship Centre, in honour of the esteemed awardee. Col. Bello also served as the chief launcher of the landmark building.
“This honour reaffirms the importance of service, leadership, and the power of giving back. I’m deeply humbled,” said Col. Sani Bello (Rtd).
Other distinguished personalities honoured at the ceremony included Chief Michael AdeOjo, Arthur Eze, Chief Pius Akinyelure, and Prime Minister Americo D’Oliveira Dos Ramos of São Tomé and Príncipe. Posthumous tributes were paid to Ambassador Walter Carrington, Mr. Richard Kramer, and Mayor Sylvester Turner of Houston, Texas.
In addition to celebrating its anniversary, the Chamber officially inducted 52 new members and inaugurated its 20th President, Alhaji Sheriff Balogun, who pledged to lead the NACC through a bold agenda focused on SME development, export promotion, and trade missions.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Cooperatives, Mrs. Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, commended NACC’s pivotal role in boosting bilateral trade and reiterated the government’s support for economic growth.
Founded in 1960, the NACC is West Africa’s oldest and most influential bilateral chamber, committed to promoting sustainable Nigerian-American trade relations through strategic dialogue and collaborative engagement.
