Adamawa State Partners With Monarchs To Promote Cultural Heritage

The Adamawa Government said it has built an effective synergy and collaboration with traditional rulers in promoting and preserving the cultural heritage in the state.

The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Aloysius Babadoke, stated this in an Interview with the Press, in Yola on Wednesday.

Babadoke said that with the support of Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri, the Ministry was able to embark on collaborative initiatives that has led to the revitalization of culture and tourism in the state.

“Traditional rulers have been identified as custodians of culture and this partnership would help preserve and showcase the rich cultural heritage that abounds in the state.

“he said.

The commissioner said one of the achievements had also been the approval granted by the government for the revitalization of tourism through international partnership and institutions.

According to him, a workable partnership has been reached between the state government and US Embassy, UNESCO, Canadian University, ABU Zaria, University of Nigeria, among others.

He said the partnership would go a long way to develop and revitalize the tourism industry geared toward revenue generation for the state.

Accessing the general performance of the Governor, Babadoke said that the administration has done excellently well by remodeling the state to become one of the best in the Northeast.

He noted that the feat attained by Fintiri’s fifth year anniversary in the infrastructural development of roads, hospitals, education, empowerment, water, has earned his administration numerous awards.
