Tales of Orisa explores the characters of the Yoruba deities celebrated across Africa and the Diaspora, through live music and visuals

Join us throughout the day for this unique event at the Hall:

  • 12.00 pm – Community Discussion exploring the history, stories and future of The University of Birmingham’s Danford Collection of West African Art and Artefacts. Hosted by The Ifa Yoruba Contemporary Arts Trust.
  • 2.00pm – Tales of Orisa. A performance of live music and projected images from the Danford Collection – featuring Lekan Babalola’s Sacred Funk Trio.
    Event Information

The Community Discussion will take place in the Stable Block Classroom and is free to attend, no booking required. The space is fully accessible.

The performance will take place in the Long Gallery and is included in the normal entrance fee for the Hall. The performance takes place upstairs, there is no lift access inside the Hall.
