The facility, designed as a leisure, arts, and tourism hub, is part of the governor’s broader development vision for the state. Governor Soludo expressed confidence that the new establishment would strengthen Anambra’s entertainment industry, enhance social engagement, and open up economic opportunities for residents.

“After the formal commissioning by President Bola Tinubu, the Fun City is now officially open for business for people of all ages,” Soludo declared at the launch ceremony.

“With the launch of Solution Fun City, which has a water park, leisure park and a world-class country club, Anambra State is poised to establish itself further as a leading destination for arts and entertainment in Nigeria.”

He reaffirmed that creativity and innovation remain pillars of his administration’s agenda. The Fun City, now operational for commercial use and recreational activities, was initially inaugurated on May 8, 2025, during President Tinubu’s one-day visit to the state.

The launch event doubled as a celebration of Anambra’s rich cultural heritage. Popular highlife star Chinedu Okoli, known globally as Flavour, delivered an electrifying performance that set the tone for the evening. His energetic set, rooted in traditional Igbo rhythms and infused with contemporary beats, had the audience dancing and singing along.

Flavour was joined by a star-studded lineup of artists, including the acclaimed musical duo Umu Obiligbo, actress and singer Jennifer Eliogu, and popular comedian MC Ezegetive. Each act brought a unique sound and energy that underscored the state’s creative vitality.

A diverse crowd gathered for the festivities, including dignitaries, political leaders, entertainers, and members of the public. Deputy Governor Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Speaker of the State House of Assembly Somtochukwu Udeze, business magnate Emeka Offor, and a host of top Nollywood stars were present to witness the opening.

Guests toured the facility’s impressive features, which include a modern water park, expansive relaxation areas, a leisure park, and a country club built to global standards.

For many attendees, the event was more than just entertainment — it was a statement about the power of arts and infrastructure in shaping a modern, economically vibrant Anambra.

“This is beyond bricks and mortar,” said Ifeanyi Nwosu, a local arts promoter in Awka. “Solution Fun City is the first of its kind in the region and it shows that our government is beginning to see arts and entertainment as a serious industry, not just a pastime.”

The Fun City is also expected to drive tourism by attracting both local and international visitors, and providing jobs in the areas of hospitality, events, maintenance, and content production.

Governor Soludo maintained that projects like these are central to his plan to shift Anambra from being solely a commercial state to becoming a creative and tourist destination.

“Our youths deserve spaces where their talents can shine, and our people need spaces where they can relax, dream, and build community,” he said.
