Queen Latifah AMAs hosting debut cements her status as the first individual ever to have solo-hosted both the Grammy Awards and the American Music Awards, a rare achievement that highlights her enduring influence in music, television and live entertainment.

Queen Latifah previously hosted the Grammy Awards in 2005 and has since built a strong reputation as one of the most reliable and charismatic hosts in the entertainment industry.

Her portfolio includes presenting the BET Awards, the NAACP Image Awards and the Kennedy Center Honors, each performance reinforcing her command of live broadcast television.

Speaking ahead of the event, Queen Latifah reflected on her journey, noting that her career has consistently remained rooted in music despite her expansion into acting and producing.

“All roads lead back to music for me,” she said, adding that her artistic path has always been shaped by sound, rhythm and performance.

The 52nd edition of the American Music Awards is expected to draw global attention, with a star-studded nominee list led by Taylor Swift, who tops the nominations with eight nods, alongside Morgan Wallen, Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Dean.

The ceremony will also feature major performances and honours, including Billy Idol receiving a lifetime achievement award and Karol G being recognised for international excellence.

Industry observers say Queen Latifah’s selection as host reflects her unique ability to balance charisma, spontaneity and professionalism, qualities considered essential for live award shows that demand precision and audience engagement.
