Paul Ukpabio Wins Tourism Writer Of The Year Award

The Tourism Writer Of The Year Award 2023 has gone to Paul Ukpabio of Paul Ukpabio Blog.

The event was the Nigeria Media NiteOut Award (NMNA) that took place yesterday at the prestigious Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.

The category, a usual tough turf because of its being laden with prolific, well traveled writers, became a tough one for the media awards committee, when it came to decision making,” said Sola Olugbemiro, the Convener of the annual award event

But Paul Ukpabio Blog emerged winner when at the tail end of the period considered, the versatile writer,came up with a classic travel story, which became the icing on the cake! And the game changer for the awards committee’s decision

Paul Ukpabio has also been a winner of The Society Writer Of The Year Award amongst others.

In an emotional laden speech, Paul Ukpabio after being presented the award, as Tourism Writer Of The Year 2023, dedicated the award to Tourism Icon, Otunba Wanle Akinboboye, who he said, “opened the door for the award to come in.”

“I want to dedicate this award to Tourism Icon Otunba Wanle Akinboboye (The Builder), who inspired me to write the award winning travel story. It was my visit to his exotic holiday resort, La Campagne Tropicana Forest Hills And Cave Resort, located at Ondo state, that inspired me to write the story. The trip was an out-of-this world experience for me. He provided the platform, and I want to thank him for building talents and creating opportunities for people to grow.” Paul Ukpabio added at the event.

The event also saw many journalists winning awards in other media categories such as: Politics Desk Head Of The Year Award, Crime Writer Of The Year Award and others.
