Ogun Set To Host Inaugural Tourism Market Development Conference

In a bid to spotlight its rich tourism potential, Ogun State is gearing up to host its inaugural Tourism Market Development Conference and the official launch of the Ogun Tour Guide on June 29, 2024.

Organized by Rockcity Economy Investment Company Limited, the event aims to showcase the state’s tourism treasures to a global audience.

The Project Coordinator, Aremu Ibigbami in a statement said the conference, themed “Positioning Ogun in the Global Tourism Market: The Role of Stakeholders,” is scheduled to take place at the prestigious June 12 Cultural Centre in Kuto, Abeokuta.

Ibigbami added that the conference promises to be a pivotal gathering of key industry players and enthusiasts dedicated to harnessing the tourism potential of the Gateway State.

According to him, former Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Ishola, has been selected to deliver the keynote address, bringing his wealth of experience and insights to the forefront of discussions.

He added that Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, the wife of the Ogun State Governor, will grace the occasion as the Mother of the Day, adding her support to the state’s tourism aspirations.

Adding regal flair to the event, Oba (Prof.) Saka Matemilola has been designated as the Royal Father of the Day, symbolizing the traditional importance and endorsement of the conference.

Additionally, Prof. Adegoke Bakare, Head of Hospitality and Tourism at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), will serve as the lead speaker, sharing expertise on strategies to propel Ogun’s tourism onto the global stage.

The Project Coordinator, expressed excitement about the upcoming event, emphasizing its significance in positioning Ogun State as a premier destination for tourists worldwide.

He said the launch of the Ogun Tour Guide is poised to provide visitors with comprehensive insights into the state’s diverse attractions, fostering greater exploration and appreciation of its cultural, historical, and natural wonders.

Blue Lagos Facilitates INEC Continuous Voter Registration Across Riverine Communities

Blue Lagos is pleased to inform residents of riverine and coastal communities across Lagos State that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will be conducting the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) Exercise in selected communities from Thursday, 16 July to Sunday, 19 July 2026.

This intervention is part of INEC’s ongoing Nationwide Continuous Voter Registration exercise, which has been taking place across various communities in Lagos State.

Through the engagement and advocacy efforts of Blue Lagos, the exercise is now being extended to additional riverine and coastal communities to ensure that more residents have convenient access to voter registration services.

The exercise will cover communities in Badagry, Epe, Eti-Osa, Ojo, Amuwo-Odofin, Apapa, Ibeju-Lekki, Ikorodu, Kosofe, and Lagos Mainland, with dedicated registration centres established within or close to the affected communities.

Eligible residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.

Residents of the Riverine areas should visit the designated registration centre closest to their community on the scheduled date indicated by INEC.

Kindly refer to the attached schedule for the list of dedicated registration locations, dates, and communities covered under this phase of the exercise.
