The announcement was made in Abuja during a courtesy visit by the EU delegation, led by Ambassador Gautier Mignot, to Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa.

The initiative will promote film festivals, digital arts, and cultural heritage, helping to drive economic growth and create jobs across Nigeria’s creative landscape.

“Culture is central to civilization and growth. We must harness our rich cultural heritage to drive economic growth, create jobs, and promote national unity,” Musawa said.

She also revealed plans to produce a ‘Unity Song’ featuring top Nigerian musicians to foster national cohesion and counter insecurity.

The visit stressed the importance of international partnerships in cultural development and introduced plans for a Creative Economy Summit. This summit will align strategies, attract investment, and inspire innovation.

Musawa called for cultural data mapping to support evidence-based policy, enabling smarter interventions and resource use.

Both sides agreed to deepen collaboration in digital skills, capacity building, and international best practices, all tailored to Nigeria’s realities.
