NGSG To Minimize Medical Tourism, Targets Improved Doctors Welfare

Niger state Government says it is fully committed to the reduction of medical tourism by ensuring better working condition for doctors in the state.

This was in addition to the entrenchment of friendly policies and programmes that helped to encourage and prioritise the welfare of doctors for career advancement.

A statement by the Special Adviser to the Niger state Governor on Digital Media and Strategy Abdulbaqy Usman Egbo and made available to Newsmen said the state government is according the health sector the desired attention it deserves to flourish.

The statement further explained the state readiness Niger state to reposition both the primary and tertiary health sector, towards achieving the health for all policy through effective and efficient service delivery system.

According to Abdulbaqy Egbo , the doctors quarters at General Hospital Minna which has been in bad shape for some years had been given a face lift towards providing conducive working environment for doctors working in the state.

Similarly , the first ever State University Teaching Hospital named Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University is under construction with state of the arts facilities.

The statement added that the State government has began construction of primary health care centres , with about twenty sets to be completed within the next ten weeks.
