Idris Aregbe, the Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism, Arts and Culture, revealed that this ambition aligns with the current administration’s THEMES+ Agenda. A key objective of this agenda is to reflect the vibrant culture, growth, and shared experiences that make Lagos unique.

Aregbe stated that Lagos is not only the entertainment and tourism capital of Africa but also aims to become a global hub for music, film, visual arts, culinary experiences, family-friendly events, beach activities, and nightlife. The state’s government is actively enhancing its tourism offerings to achieve this desired status.

He emphasised that Lagos is prepared to lead the way in setting new standards in family-friendly entertainment and tourism that will resonate for years to come.

The government is committed to balancing child-friendly attractions, family festivals, interactive workshops, and cultural showcases that cater to all ages.

Tourism and entertainment are pivotal to boosting the local economy, and Lagos is not in competition with its citizens but is complementing their efforts by providing necessary logistics and support to help them reach global standards.

Public-private collaborations are being strengthened to create a peaceful and safe environment for tourism to thrive.

Aregbe assured both Lagosians and visitors that the state government is dedicated to ensuring a seamless experience across all tourist hubs.

The exciting lineup of events is expected to stimulate the hospitality, retail, and entertainment sectors while attracting local and international investors.
