Kano tourism commissioner visits cultural institutions, emphasises growth and improvement

Kano Tourism Commissioner, Hajiya Aisha Lawan Saji Rano, visits cultural institutions to assess operations, praising achievements and advocating for continued growth.

 

 

Kano State Commissioner for Tourism and Culture, Hajiya Aisha Lawan Saji Rano, conducted a familiarisation visit to the History and Culture Bureau and the Tourism Board on December 30, 2024.

The purpose of the visit was to assess the operations of these institutions and explore potential opportunities for growth and improvement within the tourism and cultural sectors under her ministry’s oversight.

Amina Lawan Isah, the Information Officer for the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, reported that during her visit, Hajiya Aisha commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his steadfast support in promoting tourism and preserving the state’s rich cultural heritage.

In her address, Hajiya Aisha praised the History and Culture Bureau and the Tourism Board for their notable achievements, including infrastructure renovations and the introduction of innovative cultural programs. She encouraged the staff to prioritise punctuality and a strong work ethic, cautioning against absenteeism.

The Commissioner also highlighted the Governor’s commitment to staff welfare, noting the successful implementation of the new minimum wage policy as a testament to his dedication to improving the lives of workers in the state.

In response, Ahmad Abba Yusuf, the Executive Secretary of the History and Culture Bureau, and Comrade Tukur Bala Sagagi, the Managing Director of the Tourism Board, expressed their gratitude to the Commissioner for her leadership.

They reaffirmed their commitment to working collaboratively with the ministry to further advance Kano’s tourism and cultural sectors, ensuring the successful achievement of the state’s development goals.

Hajiya Aisha’s visit underscores Kano’s determination to harness its cultural wealth and tourism potential as a catalyst for sustainable development and progress.
