Blaqbonez explains why he allegedly declined a $1 million offer from Mavin Records, citing his preference for a low-profile social media presence

The rapper made the disclosure in a post shared on his X account, where he explained that his decision was influenced by his personal approach to social media engagement.

According to Blaqbonez, he prefers maintaining a low profile online and does not enjoy frequent interaction with fans through social media platforms.

He suggested that the level of visibility and online engagement often expected from artists under major record labels did not align with his personality.

“Need to get this off my chest before chanel drops, the reason I didn’t sign to mavin when they were begging me with a million dollars is cos i don’t really like posting,” he wrote.

The rapper added that he would rather post infrequently than maintain a constant online presence.

“I prefer 1 tweet per year than engaging my fans, I’m too big for that, I’m mysterious,” he stated.

While Blaqbonez did not provide further details about the alleged offer or when the discussions took place, his remarks quickly attracted attention from fans and music enthusiasts on social media.

The revelation has also reignited conversations about the role of digital engagement in modern music careers, particularly for artists signed to major labels.

Blaqbonez has built a reputation for blending rap, humour and unconventional marketing strategies, helping him establish a strong following within Nigeria’s music industry and beyond.
