Anambra floating restaurant launched in Onitsha

Anambra State, in partnership with Ije Ride, has launched its first floating restaurant at Onitsha Marine Jetty to boost tourism and local businesses

 

 

The **Anambra State Government**, in partnership with **Ije Ride**, has launched the state’s **first-ever floating restaurant** at the **Marine Jetty, Onitsha**.

This landmark initiative, spearheaded by **Governor Chukwuma Soludo**, aims to **promote tourism, support local businesses, and showcase Anambra’s rich cultural heritage**.

Speaking at the launch, the **Commissioner for Transport, Barrister Patricia Igwebuike**, highlighted the importance of this project in unlocking the **economic potential of Anambra’s waterways**.

She explained that the floating restaurant is designed to **attract visitors and create new business opportunities** for local entrepreneurs.

> **”This partnership with Ije Ride is part of the governor’s vision to explore and maximise our waterways, promoting both tourism and commerce,”** Igwebuike stated.

**Honourable Edward Ibuzo**, the **Chief Executive Officer of Ije Ride**, praised the governor’s forward-thinking approach.

He noted that the restaurant would offer a **one-of-a-kind dining experience**, featuring a mix of **local and intercontinental cuisine** while overlooking Anambra’s scenic waterways.

> **”This floating restaurant is not just about food; it’s about creating an unforgettable experience that blends relaxation with the beauty of our riverine landscape,”** Ibuzo remarked.

To guarantee the safety of visitors, **Mr. Chiejina Obieze**, the **Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security**, assured that strict **safety measures and regulations** would be enforced.

> **”We are committed to making this experience enjoyable and secure. Proper guidelines will be in place to ensure that all guests feel safe while dining on the water,”** Obieze stated.

This **floating restaurant marks a major step** in Anambra’s push to develop **innovative tourism attractions**.

With its strategic location at **Onitsha’s Marine Jetty**, it is expected to **draw visitors from across Nigeria and beyond**, further solidifying the state’s position as an emerging tourism hub.
