SW Hoteliers Conference Set to Focus on Resilience Amid Economic Downturn

The Odua 2024 Hoteliers Conference will explore strategies for hotel resilience amid economic challenges from 20-23 October at Ife Grand Resort

The Hoteliers Association of Nigeria, South West Zone, is set to hold its annual conference, Odua 2024, from 20 to 23 October 2024 at the Ife Grand Resort & Leisure Hub, Ile Ife, Osun State.

Supported by major sponsors like MTN, International Breweries, International Distillers Limited, and Ojaja Arena, the event will focus on strategies for hotel resilience amidst economic challenges.

This year’s conference, themed Economic Downturn & Hotel Resilience: Strategies for Weathering Economic Storms, aims to provide practical solutions to the challenges facing the hospitality industry, especially following the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr Oladapo Olukayode Olaleye, Secretary General of the South West Hoteliers Association and Main Organising Committee (MOC) Secretary, emphasised the comprehensive content of the event.

“This year’s event is packaged to ensure 100% contentment of our members. Plenary sessions will decisively address industry challenges, with additional activities like tourist site visits, networking, and idea sharing.”

Oluomo Talabi Jamiu, Chairman of the MOC, leads the event, while Hon. Adebowale Akanbi, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC), expressed the importance of the conference’s discussions.

“This year’s event will be very insightful as we explore the survival of the industry after COVID-19 and how to navigate the ongoing economic challenges.”

The Odua 2024 conference will gather hotel professionals and stakeholders to share innovative strategies for ensuring operational stability and growth during difficult economic times.
