Sesan Fagbayi calls for yoruba culture preservation amid foreign influence

Ogun State Commissioner Sesan Fagbayi has voiced concerns over the erosion of Yoruba culture due to foreign influences, stressing the need for cultural preservation.

 

Ogun State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Sesan Fagbayi, has expressed deep concern about the decline of Yoruba culture and language due to foreign influences.

Speaking at Mustapha Alogba’s Solo Photography Exhibition, Fagbayi, represented by Mrs. Samuel Olubukola, warned that neglecting Yoruba culture risks its extinction.

Dr. Tunde Kelani also highlighted the diminished importance of Yoruba in education and traditional practices.

Adijat Motunrayo Adeleye and Bola Yinka-Obebe echoed concerns about the erosion of traditional customs, urging a return to cultural roots.

Alogba advocated for including cultural training in secondary school curriculums. The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including High Chief Charles Olufemi Keshinro and Barr. Z.A. Ajibola.
