Promasidor launches Ikun Milk Day to boost child nutrition, education in Ekiti State

Promasidor Nigeria has officially launched its “Ikun Milk Day” initiative, a corporate social responsibility programme aimed at enhancing child nutrition and supporting education for primary school pupils in Ikun Amure, Ekiti State

Promasidor CSR  efforts have taken a significant step forward with the official launch of “Ikun Milk Day,” a corporate social responsibility and social impact initiative. Designed to enhance child nutrition and support education, the programme targets children in Ikun Amure, Ekiti State.

The leading food and beverage company announced that, through this initiative, primary school pupils in five local schools will receive fresh milk once a week. The programme will also incorporate nutrition and dairy farming sessions, reflecting Promasidor’s ongoing commitment to health education and community development.

The launch event, held at Ikun Dairy Farm – a joint venture between Promasidor Nigeria and Fountain Holdings Limited – attracted a host of dignitaries. Notable attendees included the Governor of Ekiti State, Abiodun Oyebanji; the Minister of Livestock Development, represented by Victor Egbon, Director of Ruminant and Monogastric Development; members of the Ekiti State Executive Council; local government officials; and traditional rulers.

Governor Oyebanji highly commended Promasidor for its substantial investment in child welfare and community empowerment. He stated, “This initiative is not just about milk. It is about securing the future of our children by boosting nutrition. We also drive school enrolment and attendance.”

Speaking on behalf of Promasidor Nigeria’s CEO Francois Gillet, Dr. Eno Udoma Eniang, Corporate Affairs and IDF Director, emphasised the broader significance of the initiative. “This project reflects our commitment to giving back sustainably; good nutrition is essential for cognitive development and academic performance,” she affirmed.

The beneficiary schools for this impactful programme include AUD CAC United Nursery and Primary School, St Thomas Catholic Nursery and Primary School, Seventh Day Adventist and Primary School, All Saints Anglican and Primary School, and Community Primary School Ikun Amure.
