President Bola Tinubu congratulates Etsu Nupe Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar on his 73rd birthday and 22 years on the throne, lauding his unity and leadership efforts

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, on his 73rd birthday and 22nd anniversary on the throne.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Friday, Tinubu described the monarch as a true patriot whose influence has been pivotal in fostering unity, peace, and reconciliation across Nigeria.

“Etsu Nupe has contributed immensely to nation-building. He has used his revered position to promote unity, harmony, religious tolerance, peace, and reconciliation in the country,” the President noted.

He further commended Alhaji Abubakar’s humility, courage, and extensive leadership experience, highlighting his roles as Chairman of the Abuja Mosque and Chairman of the Coordinating Committee of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria.

Born in 1952, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar served in the military before retiring as a Brigadier-General. He ascended the throne as the 13th Etsu Nupe in 2003.

President Tinubu prayed for the monarch’s long life, wisdom, and a prosperous, peaceful reign over the Nupe Kingdom.
