Osun woos foreign investors for tourism, mining sectors

The Osun State Government has called on foreign business owners interested in doing business in the country to invest in the state’s tourism and mining sectors.

Osun State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mr Bunmi Jenyo, made the call at the National Black Business Conference held at Hilton Atlanta Hotel G.A, United States of America.

A statement by the media assistant to the Commissioner, Sesan Adeleke, obtained in Osogbo, said Jenyo noted that international investors would play crucial roles in developing sectors such as agriculture, mining, technology, education, manufacturing, tourism and health.

Beyond the financial gains, the commissioner also said there will be positive effects of the investments in various sectors of Nigeria’s economy.

This, he said, would lead to technological advancement and more prosperity for the state.

“Africa can leverage on its diaspora and build them as a fortress of enterprise across the continent and world. The chances of success are higher if the continent leverages on the diaspora capabilities in sectors such as agriculture, technology, health, education, tourism, mining, manufacturing and renewable energy.

“These sectors not only promise substantial financial returns for investors but also align with global trends towards sustainability and technological advancement. Leveraging on unique positions and resources, diaspora investors can equally play a pivotal role in Africa and Nigeria’s economic transformation.

“Nigeria, the largest black nation of the African continent, will continue to position itself as a hub for economic growth and innovation, hoping there can be interest from our brothers and sisters in the diaspora to develop the African continent,” he said.
