Themed “Access for All and Disability Awareness”, this year’s event aims to move beyond awareness to measurable action, using the powerful lenses of fashion, advocacy, and philanthropy to promote disability inclusion in Nigeria and beyond.

Speaking ahead of the event, Dr Sandra Odige, founder of La Mode Magazine and convener of the Green October Event, emphasised that inclusion is no longer optional.

“Access is a human right, not a privilege. This year, we are moving beyond awareness to action—spotlighting innovators, amplifying lived experiences, and raising funds that deliver real, measurable access for persons with disabilities.”

Event Highlights: Inclusion in Focus

The 2025 Green October Event will feature a rich lineup of activities that go beyond the catwalk:

  1. Impact Forum: Discussions with disability advocates, lived-experience speakers, and policy leaders.
  2. Humanitarian Awards: Recognition of individuals and organisations driving inclusive change.
  3. Fundraising Drive: Funds raised will go towards assistive technologies and inclusive training programmes to empower persons with disabilities.

Guests are encouraged to arrive in green, white, or a combination of both, symbolising Nigeria’s national colours and the spirit of inclusion.
Event kicks off at 5 p.m.

Since its inception, the Green October Event has evolved into one of Nigeria’s most prominent fashion-humanitarian platforms, blending style with social responsibility.
