EbonyLife Cinema Hosts Kingdom Film Festival In Lagos

The 2023 edition of Kingdom Film Festival will hold at EbonyLife Cinema, Victoria Island, Lagos on November 29 and 30, 2023.

The festival, according to organisers, is a celebration of faith-based filmmakers aimed at driving sustainability with innovation in the Nigerian and African film industries.

Themed ‘Building Kingdom Legacy’, this year’s edition will feature workshops on filmmaking and film business, movie screening, talk shows, smartphone film and short film contest.

Similarly, popular filmmaker and actor, Mike Bamiloye, Naomi Osemedua, Ijeoma Onah, Toyosi Effiong, Akin Akinpelu, Femi Luther-Abegunde and many more are scheduled to speak at the event.

The convener, Ewoma Luther-Abegunde, also disclosed that awards will be given to the Best Smartphone Film and Short Film, while ace filmmaker, Femi Odugbemi, would be honoured with the Kingdom Film Festival Special Icon Award for his immense contributions to the film industry.

In a live Instagram session with the director/co-executive producer, Tamara Adeyemi on Sunday, Luther-Abegunde disclosed that Nathaniel Bassey’s documentary project, “Africa Will Feed The World: A Hallelujah Challenge Story” will draw the curtain on this year’s Kingdom Film Festival.

The event is supported by Getinspired Network, EbonyLife Cinemas, EbonyLife Creative Academy, Lagos State Film and Video Censors Board, Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival, Smooth FM, and STV amongst others.
