Speaking during this year’s Iyake International Festival at Ado-Awaye in Oyo State, Oba Owoade emphasised that cultural tourism could serve as a sustainable economic alternative to oil dependence, offering opportunities for national growth while celebrating traditional arts and heritage.

A statement released on Friday by Bode Durojaiye, Director of Media and Publicity to the Alaafin, quoted Oba Owoade as urging a renewed focus on Nigeria’s rich cultural resources.

He highlighted the importance of reviving traditional values, arts, and practices as part of a broader strategy to strengthen Yoruba identity and promote tourism across the country.
