The record-keeping organisation confirmed the achievement on Tuesday, following a verification process for the event organised by entertainment company Dapper Live & Artists.

The historic performance featured 85 musicians who delivered a coordinated orchestral arrangement built around Afrobeats compositions at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Lagos, on December 16, 2025.

Titled Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience, the concert brought together a lead conductor, choir members, dancers and contemporary Afrobeats performers alongside veteran Fuji stars Saheed Osupa and KS1 Malaika.

The production aimed to create a powerful fusion of West African musical traditions, combining Fuji rhythms, Afrobeats influences and classical orchestral arrangements in one performance.

Following a detailed assessment by Guinness World Records adjudicators, the achievement was officially added to the global record books.

The milestone represents a significant moment for Nigerian music, highlighting the growing international recognition of the country’s diverse sounds and the creative possibilities of blending traditional and modern musical styles.

Dapper Live & Artists, led by Nigerian music executive Damilola “Dapper” Akinwunmi, described the project as an effort to showcase the depth and versatility of African music on a global stage.
