A stellar jury, led by Stephanie Okereke-Linus, will adjudicate entries for Zuma International Film Festival 2024 in Abuja, Nigeria.
The Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) and the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) have unveiled the prestigious jury for the 2024 Zuma International Film Festival (ZUFF), scheduled to take place from December 1st to 5th in Abuja.
This year’s festival, themed *”Digital Renaissance: Embracing the Future”*, will showcase a blend of cultural richness and digital innovation, further solidifying Nigeria’s position as Africa’s film production hub.
Heading the ten-member jury is renowned Nigerian actress, filmmaker, and activist Stephanie Okereke-Linus, celebrated for her impactful work on *DRY* and recipient of accolades such as the AMAA Award for Best Nigerian Film and the AMVCA Award for Best Overall Movie in Africa.
Other distinguished jury members include:
– **Kenneth Gyang:** Director of critically acclaimed films like *This Is Lagos* and Netflix’s *Oloture*.
– **Aisha Halilu Abdullahi:** Specialist in docu-dramas and documentaries.
– **Ishaq Sidi Ishaq:** Actor, writer, and producer known for *Kamilu* and *Wasila*.
– **Charles Novia:** Avant-garde Nollywood filmmaker and scriptwriter.
– **Hakeem Kae Kazim:** International actor from *Hotel Rwanda* and *The Librarian*.
– **Sihle Hlophe:** Award-winning director with over 15 years of experience.
– **Ronya Man:** Acting coach and creative arts specialist known for *SIN* and *The Johnsons*.
– **Juliet Ibrahim:** Multilingual actress, producer, and director with over 100 movie credits.
– **Zaiyanu Tanko Waziri:** Veteran filmmaker and broadcaster with more than two decades of professional experience.
In a statement, NFC’s Director of Public Affairs, Brian Etuk, highlighted the jury’s pivotal role in selecting the winning entries, reflecting the festival’s commitment to showcasing authentic African stories.
According to NFC’s Managing Director, Dr. Ali Nuhu, the jury’s expertise will ensure the festival’s success while promoting Nigeria’s creative economy as a global leader in film production.
Now in its 14th edition, ZUFF continues to grow as one of Africa’s most dynamic international film festivals. It aims to promote cultural exchange, digital transformation in filmmaking, and global recognition of African narratives.
