Oyo State tourism investment push begins as Governor Makinde declares five sites open for local and global investors under bold new Tourism Reset Agenda

Oyo State Tourism Investment has officially begun with the declaration of five heritage-rich sites ready for development. Governor Seyi Makinde made the announcement during the 2025 International Tourism Summit at the University of Ibadan on Thursday.

Among the highlighted destinations are Eleyele Lake and Idere Hills, both poised to attract local and foreign investors.

Makinde emphasized that this initiative is not about nostalgia but strategic growth. “The future of heritage is not nostalgia; it is strategy—and in Oyo State, it is investable,” he said.

The Tourism Reset Agenda, anchored on five executive commitments, now places the Ministry of Culture and Tourism under direct supervision of the Governor, streamlining decision-making and eliminating red tape.

This bold move integrates tourism with urban renewal, infrastructure upgrades, youth employment, and diaspora engagement turning tourism into a self-sustaining economic driver.
