Sources confirmed to PUNCH Online on Wednesday that preparations are underway for the grand ceremony, which will take place at Mapo Hall, the historic venue traditionally used for such royal events in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

A state delegation reportedly met with Ladoja and the Olubadan-In-Council at his private residence in Bodija on Wednesday, solidifying the next steps toward his official enthronement.

“Oba Ladoja will be enthroned as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday, September 26, 2025,” said Adeola Oloko, media aide to the monarch designate.

The confirmation follows a private meeting between Ladoja and the kingmakers earlier this week, clearing the path for his ascension to one of the most revered traditional thrones in Yorubaland.

The coronation of Oba Ladoja marks not only a continuation of a respected lineage but also a powerful symbol of cultural pride and leadership for Ibadan people worldwide.
