    Nollywood’s Evanny Patrick nominated for Africa’s 2024 Award

    Nollywood actress Evanny Patrick included in Africa’s 2024 under 40 award recipients.

    Alex Nwankwo, Executive Chairman of Amity Global Network, revealed this during an interview with the News Men on Tuesday in Abuja.

    He mentioned that the event is arranged by Mayorkings Agency Group.

    Nwankwo stated that Africa’s Under 40 CEOs Awards and Summit is a premier continental award event and ranking.

    “It identifies, showcases, honours and celebrates young Africans who are mostly influential, established and accomplished young business leaders, under the age of 40.

    “Recipients were selected across various industries; people who have demonstrated commitment to business growth, development, professional excellence and community service as well as philanthropy.

    “The event and rankings aim to encourage and promote young African champions globally as well as bridging a Room for networking, collaboration, unity of purpose amongst successful young Africans.

    “The sole aim of this is for the Advancement of the African Continent.

    “Mayorkings Agency Group together with its global Partners, highly committed Award Screening Committee and Jury are 100 per cent committed to honouring and celebrating only deserving young Africans at each edition’’ Nwankwo said.

    He clarified that award recipients would additionally be granted honorary doctorate degrees from Prowess University Delaware, USA, and become Fellows of the Global Institute of Leadership and Governance, South Africa.

    The actress, originally from Delta, grew up in Lagos and attended Kems College. She earned her B.Sc. in Business Administration and Management from Houdegbe North American University, Benin.

    She also obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Human Resource Management from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State.

    A beauty and fashion entrepreneur, she has followed her passion, acting, featuring along with high profile Nollywood stars in a number of blockbuster movies.

    Some the works where she featured are: `Perfect Ex’, `3 Sisters’, `Eniola Spice’, `Love Spices’, `Where I Found Love’, `Pablo’, `Mad Neighbours 2’, `One More Night’, `Love Wager’ and others.

    Globacom sponsors Ojude Oba 2024

    Digital telecommunications brand, Globacom, has again announced its sponsorship of the 2024 Ojude Oba Festival in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

    This was affirmed in an address delivered at the pre-event press conference held at the Awujale’s Palace in Ijebu Ode.

    Globacom’s representative, Kazeem Kaka, said the company was committed to uplifting Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage.

    Kaka said: “Our sponsorship of festivals is aimed at identifying with the cultures and traditions of the Nigerian people, being an indigenous company.

    “By sponsoring Ojude Oba and other Nigerian festivals with huge tourism potentials such as Ofala of Onitsha Kingdom, Globacom is helping to promote the cause of tourism in the country.”

    Globacom’s collaboration with the custodians of this festival, he explained, underscores the company’s commitment to the rich heritage of the nation, which is externalised through these festivals.

    He added: “It is our belief that our continued support for Ojude Oba will further strengthen the festival and entrench it as a world class carnival which will attract even more tourists from across the world.

    “We are convinced that this partnership will further foster a symbiotic relationship with immense benefits for both Globacom and Ijebuland.”

    The Chairman, Ojude Oba Planning Committee, Chief Olu Okuboyejo, lauded Globacom for its support for the epochal celebration, which he noted serves as a reminder of the historical antecedents of the Ijebu people.

    This year’s edition, with the theme: “Unity and Harmony in Ijebuland…The gift of Ojude Oba,” is the 18th sponsored by Globacom, which is the main supporter of the festival.

    Glo has established a reputation as the biggest corporate sponsor of cultural and traditional events in the country.

    Celebrated annually two days after the Islamic Eid El-Kabr festival, Ojude Oba is a social gathering where all divergent issues affecting the lives of the people in the community are addressed.

    Rite Foods Limited, Nigeria’s leading food and beverage company, has restated its commitment to preserving Nigeria’s cultural heritage through sponsorship of the 2024 edition of the Ojude Oba Festival slated for Tuesday, 18th June 2024 in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

    At the World Press Conference unveiling the Ojude Oba Festival 2024, the Company’s Head of Marketing, Ms. Boma Harrison, affirmed that Rite Foods’ continuous sponsorship of the Ojude Oba Festival was a demonstration of its commitment to preserving and promoting the cultural values of its communities as a proudly Nigerian Company.

    In his address, the Chairman of the Ojude Oba Festival 2024 Planning Committee, Chief (Barr.) Olu B.Okuboyejo said the highlight of the event will include 90 Age Grade performances dubbed “Regberegbe,” both male and female, with the prizes for the winning team, and the first and second runners-up, and 25 families of warlords, showcasing their dexterity in a peaceful and orderly manner that depicts their past experience in warfare.

    He stated that the rich cultural heritage dates back to about two centuries and is widely cherished by the indigenes at home and in the diaspora. This year’s edition themed: ”Ojude Oba: Peace, Unity and Harmony, Our Gifts”, according to him, re-echoes the pristine objective of Ojude Oba, which is to foster unity and peaceful co-existence in the community.

    The festival will also serve as a unification of all sons and daughters of Ijebuland, and with a homage to the His Royal Majesty, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, Ogbagba II, the Awujale of the Ijẹbu Kingdom, who in the past events, avowed that Ojude Oba brings about love, mutual understanding, and peaceful co-existence that defines what they stand for. Also, it enhances the area’s tourism potential, as it hosts visitors from other parts of the globe.

    The coordinator of the annual event, Chief (Dr.) Fassy Yusuf (Baagbimo of Ijebu), applauded Rite Foods and all sponsors for their unwavering support for the upcoming festival and for previous events, that have made the Ijebu nation popular in the country and beyond.
