Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, Speaker of the House of Representatives Abbass Tajudeen, and the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa are among the dignitaries that will grace the Southern Kaduna Festival (SKFEAT 2023) scheduled to be held from the 28th-30th December 2023.

Others expected are former Governor of Kaduna State, Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi as the father of the day, incumbent deputy governor of Kaduna State, Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe as the guest of honour, Ufai Bonet is the royal father of the day, Mrs Amina Yakowa is the mother of the day, commissioner/administrator Kafanchan Municipal Authority, and all chairmen of Southern Kaduna local governments are host of the event, while the Senator representing Southern Kaduna Sunday Marshall Katung is the chief host.

Addressing a press conference preparatory for the festival, chairman of the central planning committee, Rear Admiral Ferguson Bobai (rtd) said Governor Sani would be the special guest of honour.

According to the committee chairman, the festival with the theme: “Experience unity, celebrate cultures”, is part of the efforts to exploit the hitherto untapped arts, culture, economic, sports and tourism potential for sustainable economic growth and development of Southern Kaduna and Kaduna State in general.

“The forthcoming events that will take place on the 28th to 30th of December 2023, will no doubt epitomize the resolute commitment and determination to explore the arts, culture, sports, entertainment and tourism industries because of the value they have on generations.

“We are all aware of the near extinction of cultures due to continuous hype on foreign cultural ideologies and the misconceived perception of globalization among the youths. This Festival therefore, is a veritable tool to mirror the cultural identities of the Southern Kaduna people, that is why the planning committee is saddled with the responsibility of planning the festivity as an avenue and potent vehicle for revitalizing our rich cultural heritage and values, he said.
